The End and the Beginning
It was supposed to be the end. A five-year story arc ending in a blaze of glory.
Then, out of the ashes the Phoenix arose. Out of death comes life. Out of the end emerged the beginning.
Perpetual motion is cyclic:
There are powers in this world, however, that won’t allow for natural processes. A peaceful passing into the “ineffable bliss” of the afterlife is forbidden by the machine that perpetuates artificial existence.
Denied its natural end, it becomes a distortion of what it once was, monstrous even. What once had flowed lovingly from the source now must rip itself out violently,* tearing and destroying that which sustained its life. (* viewer discretion is advised)
Life may be a cycle of death and rebirth. A life is but a one-way street.
Life within a life may be cyclic, with many symbolic deaths and rebirths – leaving one job to begin a new one, marriage, supporting Liverpool FC – all coming to a perpetual end when it is time. Or, what should be an end.
It is no wonder that the child represents hybridization – a mixture of human and alien DNA. For this is no longer the beloved off-spring of a doting father. This rebirth is not symbolic. It is a literal keeping alive of that which rightfully should be allowed to pass. The machine forcing it to continue breathing long after its natural breath has stopped.
The erratic behavior stimulated by this artificial life support is indicative of the confusion and disorientation of one who should no longer have to struggle with finding a way through this “world of woe”. The journey has been completed.
There was a time to ‘Drive’ to the end of the road and earn the right to pass ‘Beyond the Sea’. To keep going beyond the end is to become stuck like a lost ship in the ‘Triangle’, to achieve only the illusion of change before everything snaps back to where it all began – to awake from ‘Dreamland’. All the fun has gone from this life, as if ‘the Ghosts Stole Christmas’. As much as the struggle continues to come to ‘Terms of Endearment’ with this life enforced, that which once was so ordinary is no longer achievable. That which once entered the world loved, now comes forth deformed, demonic, disposable.
It may prove of benefit if this enforced life, this avoidance of death, this eternal recurrence can prompt us to “become more self-aware, to create more consciousness’. Though it take a Miracle, The Unnatural may just become human. Though the ‘Field Trip’ through life may yet contain horrors, there can yet be found reasons to make it all worthwhile.

Round and round and round we go
Will we stop?
Fox says No!
